High-calibre resources executive Caoilin Chestnutt joins Siecap

Brisbane-based specialist project management consulting and advisory firm Siecap has appointed leading mining executive Caoilin Chestnutt as an Advisory Board Member.

Chestnutt’s 20-year career as a key executive in the resources and energy industry has spanned multiple commodities across the globe. A highly successful dealmaker and strategist, she is experienced in both technical and commercial management roles and has led to the discovery and development of numerous deposits both here in Australia and overseas

She began her career as a geologist, later progressing through, principal technical, exploration management and business development roles for Xstrata, Arrow Energy and Anglo American, among others. She joins the Siecap team following her most recent executive position as Resources Investment Commissioner for the Queensland Government.

An active industry figure and a member of multiple professional mining organisations including AusIMM and AIG, Caoilin is also a member of a number of the Queensland Exploration Council’s working groups, She recently spoke at the 10th Women in Energy & Resources Leadership Summit and has delivered numerous keynote presentations at mining and resources forums around the world on commodity and investment trends. She was a finalist in the Australian Women in Industry Awards and is actively involved mentoring young women across the STEM sector.
