The Background

The client is a national leader in the design, manufacture, and delivery of chemicals.

The organisation was historically operating as independent business with little investment over the previous years. All supplier contracts had expired, with price and terms dictated by the suppliers.

An organisation wide procurement transformation process had commenced.

Objective

Implement Category Management & SRM for Key Suppliers, leveraging group spend where possible. Key elements where:

Establish a Contracts Database

Identify Total Cost of Ownership Savings Projects

Establish Cross Functional Category Teams

Negotiate new supply agreements with chosen suppliers

Focus on creating supply agreements for existing and new suppliers, implement SRM for key suppliers
