Management Operating System for Freight Company

Implementation of a MOS system allowed a freight provider to rapidly improve their operational planning & execution.

The Background

A large Australian freight business was under pressure to deliver improved delivery performance in response to an increase in market competition.

The company had undertaken an internal review which identified variation and inconsistency across multiple areas of the business which was leading to chronic delays for customer pickups and deliveries across the network.

The business asked Siecap for an external perspective to understand the root cause of underperformance issues and asked Siecap to assist in reviewing current operations and providing recommendations to improve performance.

How the Siecap team helped

Undertook a diagnostic review working with stakeholders to understand the drivers of current performance and identify improvement opportunities.

Assessed the current organisational structure and ability to undertake the level of change required.

Developed improvement plan to implement key changes.

Conducted training sessions with crews and senior stakeholders to introduce key aspects of the changes.

Provided on the ground implementation coaching to guide and embed change

The Results

Implemented an integrated planning cycle which reduced planning variation and improved visibility across the business.
